The library is launching a book club aimed at readers who are interested in easy chapter books.
When is the book club?
We
will be meeting at the library in Term 3, every Wednesday
3:30pm-4:30pm in the Kids Section.
There is no need to bring anything, except maybe a snack!
On the last Wednesday of Term 3 (23rd September, 2020), we will be having a party. Details to follow.
What are we going to do?
We
will explore books with different themes, do some activities (some of
which you can download from this website), watch some book trailers and
videos, and most importantly have heaps of fun!How can I get ready for it?
We have prepared some printable activities for the kids to enjoy.
THE BOOK CLUB PASSPORT
Print out the Book Club Passport!
Fold it in half then half again, so that it looks like small book or passport.
There are different themes in the different boxes. Ask the librarian for a stamp every time you read a book with that theme.
Don't worry if your book doesn't fit in any of the themes, there is a box for Wild Card too!
BOOKMARKS / WRISTBANDS
Print these out as bookmarks or they also double up as wristbands!
BOOK REVIEW TEMPLATE
This is a simple template for those who are interested in writing a book review.
1. You can write this for yourself and keep it at home.
2. If you want to share your review, please hand them to the librarian and we will pin them up in the Kids Section of the library so that other kids can get some ideas of what they would be interested to read.
